So you went to the dentist and were told you need a root canal. Now what?
Root canals are common procedures used to salvage teeth that are either infected or severely decayed. During the procedure, the tooth’s nerve and pulp are taken out and then the inside of the tooth is cleaned, then sealed.
Common dental issues that may lead to a root canal include:
- Decay
- Large fillings
- Chips or cracks in a tooth
- Dental trauma
If left untreated, the damaged tooth can become severely infected or even become an abscess. It’s best to have it taken care of as soon as possible!
