One Visit Crowns With Cerec Technology

cerec crown, family dentist, one day crown, rochester hills

Need a crown? We love seeing our patients but why make two visits when you can accomplish what you need in one! You probably know the drill – have an impression made, receive a temporary crown, and come back in a week or so when the permanent crown is ready to be placed. But there’s a more efficient way to get a quality crown with no wait – CEREC.

One Visit, One Crown

OneVIsitOneCrown

CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic. Now you can see why the acronym comes in handy! This technology allows us to create a digital impression from high-resolution 3D images of your prepared teeth. We then use this impression to manufacture a crown in the dental office while you wait. The restoration is then bonded to the tooth using a resin cement which bonds to both the restoration as well as the tooth itself.

Benefits

Efficient

No more waiting weeks for a crown to return from the manufacturer and scheduling a follow-up appointment for placement. It takes Dr. Mansour a little over an hour and only one visit to input the specific information on your teeth into the computer and to mill your crown.

Precise

Digital images are incredibly precise, providing information down to the microscopic level. This enables Dr. Mansour to precisely mill the crown or only to exact specifications in the office, while you wait.

Safety

CEREC ceramic crowns and fillings have replaced mercury and other toxic metals. By removing these metals from your mouth, the potential harm they cause has been eliminated.

Durable

The ceramic material used to create your crown or only expands and contracts as your natural teeth do. Because of this, there is no danger of cracking, and wear and tear are lessened so you will not need to replace them time and again as you might with an older crown or filling technology.

If you’re in need of dental work requiring a crown during your next visit, CEREC will save your time and provide a durable option to standard crown technology. Call our office at 248-852-3130 today if you have any questions.
