Don’t Take A Holiday From Caring For Your Teeth

With long holiday weekends on the horizon and vacations slowly starting to fill calendars, it’s important to remember to pack your good dental habits with you this summer!

Keep Your Regular Dental Schedule

Have toothbrush, will travel! Just because you may not be at home doesn’t mean you can’t keep the same dental routines you normally follow. With late dinners and fun nights, it’s easy to think of skipping that before bed toothbrushing. But brushing and flossing before bed is a step you don’t want to skip if you want to keep your teeth healthy. Take those few extra minutes before lights out to care for your teeth.

Be Mindful of Festive Drinks & Snacks

With so many activities ahead of us in this warm weather, it’s tempting to quickly grab a bottled drink and packaged snack to carry with you to that soccer tournament, parade, or beach afternoon. Just a small bit of advanced planning can go a long way in supporting the health of your teeth. Fill a water bottle and add ice, reach for a snack low in sugar and make sure to rinse by drinking some water afterward if you aren’t able to brush your teeth on the go.

Just a bit of planning ahead goes a long way when it comes to keeping your dental routine on track this summer. So take that holiday trip and enjoy! If you’re due for a cleaning, give our office a call at (248) 852-3130. We can work with your summer schedule to make sure we get you in for your next appointment.
